At the 2026 Kohl’s Spring Southern Showcase, Hewett was dialed in on the target. He scored on all of his charted long snaps with an average snap time of .77 seconds. Hewett has worked hard to refine himself as a snapper and is seeing it in his improved snap times and accuracy. Using his size to his advantage and powering his hands through his target will help him continue to reach his goals.
I started playing football at the young age of 9, primarily focusing on offensive and defensive lineman roles. After just a few practices and games, I fell in love with the sport; it quickly became a central part of my life. I dedicated myself to learning as much as possible about football by watching games at every level. Fast forward to my freshman year of high school, where I struggled to rekindle that passion I once had. However, during summer workouts in 2024, our new specialist coach approached me about filling a long snapping position that was lacking depth. Eager to rediscover my love for the game and expand my knowledge, I accepted his invitation. It didn’t take long for me to realize that long snapping was crucial to the team, and I felt an immediate sense of belonging in this role. With support from my parents, I’ve been attending long snapping training camps that have significantly improved my skills, accuracy, and confidence. I’m excited about working towards my goal of becoming a collegiate long snapper and putting in the effort needed for an opportunity to compete at the highest level.
